If you're lucky enough to have a banana whose color and texture are acceptable to a toddler, you're lucky enough; because peeling said banana is risky business.
(If you know, you know, and you may save yourself the time and trouble of reading the next paragraph.)
And if you don't know, you should. You see, the chances of the banana breaking are really, really high. And when that happens, the hungry child you're trying to appease will likely go off-the-charts-bonkers. They may yell at you, throw the banana across the room, throw themselves onto the floor and thrash around, tell the neighbors you're the worst parent in the world.......you get the picture.
Think I'm kidding? Just ask a random parent if they've ever had a banana break.
What you might not know, though, is that broken bananas are Mother Nature's way of preparing you for parenting older children. In this book, Denise Clark Priest explains not only why, but how to use this lesson to strengthen your relationship with your child. (Bonus: the same tactics can work in all your relationships!) And, it might get you to thinking about all the broken bananas in your own life.
